Mounting the polishing hoods
ATTENTION!
►
Make sure you remove the battery pack
before fitting or removing the polishing
hoods / .
♦
Turn the appliance over so that the polishing
disc is facing upwards.
♦
Fit one of the polishing hoods / on the
polishing disc . Make sure that the polishing
hood is centred and taut on the polishing disc .
Use
Wear safety goggles!
Setting the rotational speed
♦
Adjust the speed adjustment wheel to a
position between 1 and 6.
Polishing
■
Use the synthetic polishing hood for
dewaxing or polishing.
■
Use the terry cloth polishing hood for
applying polish.
♦
Apply some polish to the attached polishing
hood / and the workpiece.
♦
Manually spread the polish over the surface
you want to polish.
NOTE
►
Do not apply the polish to the same surface
too often, as the particles it contains could
damage the finish.
►
Mask any plastic components beforehand
as these could be faded by the polish.
♦
Set the On/Off switch to the "I" position.
♦
Guide the appliance across the workpiece
parallel to its surface.
♦
Move the appliance parallel and evenly over
the surface being polished.
♦
Do not press the appliance down. Pressing
down hard does not increases the working
efficiency.
♦
When you are satisfied with the result, turn
off the appliance. To do this, set the On/Off
switch to the "0" position.
ATTENTION!
►
Depending on the size and nature of the
workpiece, suitable safety precautions must
be taken. Use suitable clamps to prevent the
workpiece from slipping.
Working procedures
■
Apply minimal pressure when working.
■
Work at a constant speed.
■
Carry out the polishing process parallel to the
surface and overlap the polishing strokes.
■
After completing the task, lift the appliance
from the workpiece and then switch it off.
Maintenance and cleaning
WARNING!
►
Always disconnect the battery pack
before carrying out any work on the
appliance.
The appliance is maintenance-free.
■
Always clean the appliance directly after
completion of work.
■
Use a dry cloth to clean the housing.
■
Remove any sanding dust stuck to the appliance
with a brush.
■
Never use sharp objects, petrol, solvents or
cleaning agents which can damage plastic.
Do not allow any liquids to get into the interior
of the appliance.
■
If a lithium-ion battery is to be stored for an
extended period, the charge level should be
checked regularly. The optimum charge level is
between 50% and 80%. The optimum storage
environment is cool and dry.
