The choke control is located on the top of the filter cover. 

COLD STARTS 

Pull lever up to close choke for cold starts.push lever down for RUN position. 

 
13. STARTER HANDLE 

Pull handle until engine starts,then return handle slowly.DO NOT let handle snap back ,if not,starter 
will be damaged. 

14. DEBRIS SHIELD 

Mounted just above the cutting attachment .Helps protect operator by deflecting debris produced 
during the trimming operation .Do not operate unit without shield. 

 
15. CUT-OFF KNIFE 

Trims nylon filament to the correct length-7",head to end of line-when nylon trimming head is 
bumped on the ground during opration,line advance.if trimmer is operated without a cut-off knife 
the line becomes too long(more than 7") the operating speed will slow down the engine,which will 
overheat or damage the engine.
