INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

This device contains small parts that might be a choking hazard if swallowed.
Keep all small parts out of the reach of children.

1.
Setup:
The PARI Vortex
®
Adult Mask includes an adapter that is necessary to attach the
mask to your Vortex
®
Non-Electrostatic Holding Chamber. Please contact PARI immediately
if your package did not include this adapter as seen on page 1.
a. Your mask features an expiratory valve. Follow the illustrations in Fig A and Fig B to
correctly position the valve.
b. The valve should be completely positioned on the outside, not the inside of the mask
(Fig C).
c. Firmly attach the included adapter to the mask. Firmly attach the other end of the
adapter to the mouthpiece of your Vortex
®
Non-Electrostatic Holding Chamber (Fig D).

setup and operation.
3.
Cleaning:
Clean mask and adapter by one of these easy ways:
a. Wash with warm water and liquid dish soap. Allow to dry, then store.
b. Place in a dishwasher basket and place on the top rack of a dishwasher. Remove and
store when cycle is complete.

Disinfecting:
Clean as described in number 3 above.
For low-level disinfection every other treatment day, soak mask and adapter in a solution
of 1 part distilled white vinegar and 3 parts hot tap water for 1 hour. You can substitute
respiratory equipment disinfectant (like Control III
®
) for distilled white vinegar (follow
manufacturer’s instructions for mixing). Rinse both parts thoroughly with warm tap water
and allow to dry before storing.
The mask and adapter can be disinfected by boiling both parts in a clean pot of water for
a full 5 minutes.
Hospitals and clinics can sterilize both parts by autoclaving (a maximum of 277° F or
136° C), follow autoclave manufacturer’s instructions.
Dry both parts on a clean, lint-free cloth, then store.
