4.3.3.a Statistics
The Statistics submenu of an application allows you to enable statistical analysis of
samples that you take while weighing.
For example, you might want to determine the deviation in weight from a sample of
100 items, to determine the amount of manufacturing deviation for which you need to
account when weighing smaller counts of the item.
Table 4-27 provides an overview of the Statistics submenu and an explanation of the
its options, including all possible values for the options (default settings are shown in
bold text
).

Setting Function
Statistics [ Off , On ]
Enables statistical analysis functions for the Weighing application.
Enables the
STORE n soft key 6 (on every soft-key row), which allows
you to save the current weight as a sample.
Protocol Enables or disables automatic printout of statistical sample data and
defines the printout format for statistical sampling, including what to
sample and what to output to the attached device or printer.

Max. n [ 100 , nnnn ], where:
nnnn Whole number between 2 and 1000
Defines the maximum number of samples that the scale will accept
before you must clear statistics (i.e., the number of samples you want
to take prior to using
Show Stat. to get the full statistical report).
