English: Heavy Duty Outdoor Swivel Bracket (MG-SB85)
The new Outdoor Bracket from Paradox enables you to mount and orient the DG85 or
the MG-PMD85 anywhere on a ceiling or wall surface (flat/corner mount), ensuring
optimal coverage of the protected area. Please see Figure 1 to see how the bracket is
assembled and attached to the detector.
Installation:
1.
Run wires through the auxiliary wiring hole (
A
) to the detector (DG85 only).
2.
Flat Surface Mount
: Snap the corner mount flaps (
B
) off of the ceiling/wall plate (
C
)
and using four screws (not included) install on a ceiling or wall and screw in tightly.
Corner Mount
: Using four screws (not included) install the ceiling/wall plate (
C
) on a
corner and screw in tightly using the corner mount flaps (
B
).
3.
Place the T-joint (
D
) over the ceiling/wall plate (
C
).
4.
Remove the PCB from the detector.
5.
Drill five holes (
E
) in the back cover* of the detector (as indicated in Inset 1) and
connect the mounting plate (
F
) to the detector using the four No.4 screws (
G
)
provided.
6.
Insert the the T-joint (
D
) into the detector mounting plate (
F
).
7.
To "fine-tune" the positioning of the detector, adjust the angle of the detector
mounting plate's T-joint (
D
) and lock it in place by inserting the provided No. 8 screw
(
H
) through the detector mounting plate (
F
).
8.
Place the cap lock (
I
) in the open end of the mounting plate (
F
) and secure with the
provided No. 8 screw (
H
) from inside the detector.
9.
Reassemble the motion detector.
For additional protection against water inside the detector, when you are finished
installing the bracket, spray foam may be used over and around the screws.
* Please note that the detector mounting plate (
F
) is double-sided and the T-joint can be
attached at either end. Drill the hole (

) for the No.8 screw (
H
) (inside the detector) so
that it is on the same side of the detector as the cap lock.
