2.0 Installation
The LCD keypad (DG2P-641) is connected to the c ontrol panel's
communication bus in a s tar and/or daisy c hain configuration.
The 4-wire c ommunication bus provides power and two-w ay
communication between the control panel and all modules
connected to it. Connect the four terminals labeled red, black,
green and y ellow of each key pad to the corresponding terminals
on the control panel (refer to Figure 2.1 on page 5). Refer to the
Digiplex or DigiplexN E Reference & Ins tallation Manual for the
maximum allowable ins tallation distance from the control panel.
2.1 Connecting Keypad Zones
Each k ey pad has one traditional hardwired input terminal,
allowing you to c onnec t one detector or door c ontact directly to
the keypad. For example, a door c ontact located at the entry
point of an establishment c an be wired directly to the input
terminal of the entry point keypad ins tead of wiring the door
contac t all the w ay to the control panel.
Connect the dev ice to the k ey pad's input terminal as show n in
Figure 2.1 on page 5. In order to communic ate its status to the
control panel, dev ices connec ted to the k ey pad's input terminal
must be ass igned to a z one in the control panel and the zone's
parameters must be defined. For more information on zone

Reference & Ins tallation Manual . Please note that ev en w ith the
ATZ (z one doubling) feature enabled, the k ey pad supports only
one detection device.
