The maximum distance that a repeater can be connected is 600 meters. The use of good
quality UTP cable is recommended. Always use one twisted pair for the A/B signals of
the RS485 bus. This provides the best noise rejection and maximum long distance reli-
ability. Jumper JP4, a two pin header, when shorted with a jumper, connects a 120 Ohm
resistor to the bus as the termination device. Only place this jumper to last unit in the
RS485 chain. For short bus distances this jumper is not needed.
