WALL MOUNTING

If you are not comfortable performing the following mounting procedures have a professional perform the
installation

(see your Dealer)

.

FLUSH-TO-WALL USING KEYHOLE SLOTS ON REAR OF SPEAKERS

(selected models)

When mounting center-channel speakers, before running speaker cable down the face of the wall, apply self-
adhesive bumper pads

(included)

to rear corners of speaker to accommodate speaker cable

(not shown)

.

1. Using #10 screws

(not included)

screw into the stud (If model has two key holes, measure distance apart

and use two screws). If you cannot locate a stud, use appropriate mounting hardware that will hold screws
securely

(see your Dealer)

. Do not screw all the way in, head should stand out approximately 3/8 inch

(9.5 mm). With ADP

speakers, head should stand out 1/8 inch (3 mm). With Cinema

CC, head should stand

out 5/16 inch (8 mm). On LCR models with an angled back, head should stand out about 1/4 inch (6 mm).
If using bumpers pads, add 1/8 inch (3 mm) to the amount head stands out.

2. Connect speaker cables as outlined in “Speaker Connection” section of this manual.

3. Align keyhole to screw head and using an “in and down” motion, mount speaker to wall.

NOTE: Some LCR models have an angled back, and flush mounting will result in the speaker being tilted 7° up,
down, left, or right. To mount this model parallel to the wall, follow the mounting instructions below and use
the angle bracket at the 0° position (Fig. 10d).

ANGLE BRACKETS

(Figs. 10a, 10b)

(included with L/R and C, and LCR models only, optional use)

Angle brackets may be used to:

Tilt the center speaker up or down to optimize clarity and intelligibility (Figs. 10c, 10d);

Tilt left and right speakers slightly inward for better imaging (Figs. 10c, 10d);

Mount LCR model with angled back parallel to wall (Fig. 10d).

Position bracket(s) so that sound is directed toward the listening area.

1.  Using appropriate screws and hardware

(not included)

mount bracket with supplied safety strap to stud at

desired location. If you cannot mount to a stud, use mounting hardware that will hold the bracket securely
to the wall

(see your Dealer)

.

2. Screw two #12 screws

(included)

into the two 60-mm holes in the back of the speaker enclosure, do not screw

them all the way in, heads should stand out approximately 1/8 inch (3 mm).

3. Connect speaker cables as outlined in “Speaker Connection” section of this manual.

4. Connect safety strap to speaker using #12 screw in the remaining hole. (LCR model with angled back uses

#10 screw

(not included)

.

5. Hang speaker from bracket keyholes using an “in and down” motion.

SPEAKER CONNECTION

Turn your amplifier OFF before connecting speakers. This will avoid
damage which could result from accidental shorting of speaker cables.

Your speakers are equipped with binding posts that can be used with banana, pin or spade connectors, as well
as with bare wire. Using high-quality speaker cable

(see your Dealer)

, connect one speaker at a time to your

amplifier. Connect the red (+) amplifier terminal to the red (+) speaker terminal and the black (–) to the black (–)
(Fig. 11). Tighten the posts firmly by hand, but don’t over-tighten them.

Turn your amplifier on and listen to your speakers. If you notice a complete lack of mid-bass and a dislocated
image, one or more of your speakers may be connected out-of-phase (their polarity is reversed). Re-check to
ensure that each speaker’s cable is connected with correct polarity: red (+) to red (+) and black (–) to black (–).
Make sure wires are firmly fastened.
