Handwheel Adjustment for Types 301 and 302
Figure 33: Handwheel „target reached“
The milling fence types 301 and 302 are equipped with the digital
handwheels AP-10. With type 301, the current position can be read
directly on the total fence handwheel display. With type 302, the par-
tial fence is also displayed on a second handwheel.
Button functions of the indicator:
•
With the button
you can switch between incremental and
absolute measurement.
•
Pressing the button
starts the calibration (when pressed for
5 seconds) and acknowledges a fault that is present.
•
Pressing the button
opens the parameterisation mode.
•
When turning the handwheel, the right LED lights up red. Then
continue turning 4.0 mm beyond the target so that the right-
hand LED goes out and the left-hand LED lights up red. Then turn
back (for spindle compensation) until the target position is
reached and both LEDs light up green (see example box below).
To compensate for the spindle play of the fence,
the position should always be approached from behind.
Example:
A target position of 15.0 mm is to be approached.
•
For example, we start at approx. 40 mm
•
Slowly turn back the handwheel
The right half of the display shows the direction of rotation as symbol
•
Continue to turn back slowly until the value 11.0 is reached
The right LED (red) and the symbol switch off and the left LED lights up red
At the same time, the direction symbol appears in the left half of the display
•
Now slowly turn forward towards the target position until the value 15.0 mm is reached
Both LEDs light up green (see
Figure 33) and the direction symbol switches off

Battery Buffering
The battery enables the measurement of de-energized adjustments. Depending on the duration of the battery
operation (also storage) and the frequency of the de-energized adjustments, the battery life is approx. 5 years.
The battery voltage is checked in a time interval of approx. 5 min.
If the battery voltage falls below a certain value, the battery symbol flashes in the display. If the battery voltage
drops further, the symbol appears permanently. The battery should be changed within approx. three months of
the first appearance of the battery symbol. When changing the battery, it is essential to observe the instructions
in the following section
