Using the Scan2PC Manager
You can also click the
button to select a different location if you prefer.
3. Click
Apply
; the window will close.
4. Scan your original as instructed beginning on page 9.
5. The scanned image will be saved to the location you selected in step 2 above.
File Naming Convention
Each scanned image is given a file name with the prefix
PD_
followed by a 4- digit sequential number in the order the
images are stored.
For example,
PD_0001. JPG
,
PD_0002. JPG
.
If the file name reaches
PD_9999.JPG
in the
PHOTO1
folder, a new folder titled
PHOTO2
will automatically be created
to store subsequent new files, and so on.
There can be up to 9 folders (
PHOTO1..9
,
PD_0001... PD_9999
) on a memory card. If exceeded, the Status/Card
indicator light blinks. Delete some files on the memory card or use another one if necessary.
Manually Start the Scan2PC Manager
Uninstalling the Scan2PC Manager
1. From the PC Start menu, select
All Programs
>
Scan2PC
>
Uninstall
.
2. Follow the uninstall wizard to uninstall the software.
3. Restart your PC when prompted to do so.
If you choose to restart later, be aware that the
Scan2PC
uninstall will not be completed until you restart the PC.
Installing the Scan2PC Manager
1. Connect the Scanner/Converter to your PC (see instructions beginning
on page 11), using the
Pandigital SD card
(included with
Scanner/Converter).
2. When the Windows Explorer window opens, navigate to the new
Removable Disk icon titled
PDSCAN
, and then open the
Pandigital
>
Utilities
folder.
3. In the right window pane, double-click the
“
Scan2PC_Setup_Vxxxx.exe
” file to begin the Scan2PC installation.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Once installed, the
Scan2PC Manager
runs automatically upon PC
startup, and the
icon stays on the system tray.
If you want to close the
Scan2PC Manager
temporarily, right-click on
the icon and select
Exit
.
1. When the Scanner/Converter is connected via USB cable to the computer,
the Status/Card light will be blinking. The
Scan2PC Manager
window will
appear.
2. You can specify the location where you want the scanned images to be
saved, either on the memory card or in a specific folder on the computer.
After your first scan, a folder titled
PHOTO1
is added to the file structure.
Therefore, if
Scan2PC
is selected, the scanned images will be saved to
the following location by default:
Windows XP
: C:\Documents and Settings\(
your username
)\My
Documents\My Pictures\PHOTO1\
Windows Vista or Windows 7
:
C:\Users\(
your username
) \Pictures\PHOTO1\
(Windows) If you want to start the
Scan2PC Manager
manually, double-click
the
icon on the Desktop, or right-click the
icon in the system tray
and select
Setting
.
If you want to temporarily close the
Scan2PC Manager
, right-click on the icon
and select
Exit
.
