Megapixel
A resolution of one million pixels.
H.264/
Selectable compression technologies. H.264 is also known as MPEG-4 AVC and is
MPEG-4/JPEG
currently one of the most commonly used formats for the recording, compression and
distribution of high definition video. H.264 offers better quality at lower files sizes than
both MPEG-2 and MPEG-4. MPEG-4 is a Wavelet-based file that delivers professional
quality audio and video streams over a wide range of bandwidths. Defined by the
Moving Pictures Expert Group (MPEG) and was standardized in October 1998. JPEG
is the standard for compressing still images. It produces high quality images but typi-
cally requires more space for storage. Defined by the Joint Photographic Experts
Group.
PoE
Power over Ethernet (IEEE802.3af).
Ready Tuff
Panasonic Vandal-resistant camera designation.
SDIII
Offers numerous camera performance attributes including: 128x dynamic range;
pixel-based digital contrast correction; Intelligent Technology features such as Auto
Image Stabilization, Auto Scene Change Detection, Auto Back Focus, Auto Tracking;
30x optical zoom (300x electronically); adaptive digital noise reduction; 540 lines of
color resolution; and extreme low light sensitivity in color (0.5 lux) and B/W (0.06 lux).
Check individual products for exact specifications.
SD5
Exclusive Panasonic technology offers 128x dynamic range, plus Adaptive Black
Stretch (ABS) for exceptional resolution even in low light, intelligent Video Motion
Detection (i-VMD) includes object detection (removal and left behind), scene change
detection when lens is covered, removed, defocused and auto image stabilization.

SD/SDHC
“Secure Digital”- A small memory card featuring a high data transfer rate and
encryption capability to protect content.
UniPhier LSI
(large scale integrated circuit): this proprietary next generation image processing chip
provides superior HD image quality utilizing half the data size. The advanced high-
density chip technology enables delivery of multiple H.264 and JPEG video streams
for simultaneous real-time monitoring and HD recording with enhanced interoperability.
It also features a unique processing platform that allows Panasonic to share software
and hardware resources across multiple Panasonic product lines.
