Designed by Leica specifi cally for the digital SLR camera, this advanced
lens comprises 15 elements in 11 groups and features two glass molded
aspherical lenses that meet Leica's strict quality and performance
standards. The advanced Leica D lens also features a carefully applied
multi-coating that minimizes flare, and
two ED (extra-low dispersion) lenses that
reduce chromatic aberration. The focusing
system is entirely internal, so the lens
length doesn't change as you focus. With
its 14 - 50 mm focal length – equivalent to
28 - 100 mm on a 35 mm
film camera – this lens
handles it all, from wide-
angle to zoom shots.

MEGA O.I.S. – Panasonic's Advanced Hand-Shake
Correction Technology
The new Leica D lens is equipped with
Panasonic's MEGA O.I.S., an advanced
optical image stabilizer that makes it easy
to take clear, sharp macro and low-light
shots. To further improve image stabilization performance, the lens
also incorporates Panasonic's high-performance Venus Engine
III imaging engine. This advanced LSI processes output from the
gyrosensors at an extraordinary 4,000 times per second, helping
achieve an exceptional hand-shake compensation performance.
