When the power is turned on for the
first time, the unit will print some
basic information.
Note:

When you operate this product, the power outlet should be near the product and easily accessible.

If the following message is displayed when the unit is plugged in, the recording paper set lever will be released.
Display:
Move the lever back (see step 3 on page 29).

Telephone line connection is TNV (Telecommunication Network Voltage).

KX-FP300 only
You can connect an extension telephone or answering machine to the external telephone jack (EXT) on this
unit (p. 71, 83). A voltage drop of 1.15 V at 40 mA will be introduced between the EXT jack and the B.T.
socket. If you have difficulty in making a call or experience problems during a telephone conversation,
consult your dealer or our service personnel.
CHECK LEVER
Helpful hints when using an extension telephone (KX-FP300 only):
If you connect an extension telephone or answering machine to the facsimile unit, please take note of
the following.
●
When an extension telephone or answering machine is in use, the facsimile unit will show the following
message on the display:
When a call is received and you press the MONITOR button on the facsimile unit, the call is switched to the
facsimile unit, and the external device will be disconnected.
●
If no sound is heard when you lift the handset of the extension telephone, the facsimile unit is in use.
●
In the TEL/FAX mode, only the facsimile unit will ring. You cannot answer a call with the extension
telephone.
