15.2.15 F17 (Indoor Standby Units Freezing Abnormality)
Malfunction Decision Conditions

When the difference between indoor intake air temperature and indoor pipe temperature is above 10°C or indoor
pipe temperature is below -1.0°C.
Malfunction Caused

Wrong wiring connection.

Faulty sensor.

Faulty expansion valve.
Abnormality Judgment:

3 times happen within 40 minutes.
Troubleshooting
Electronic Expansion Valve Check
Conduct the following check points:

Check if expansion valve connector is properly
inserted and v-coil is properly latched to the valve.

Turn on the power and check if latching sound is
generated (touch the valve with a screw driver
and bring it closer to your ear).

If latching sound is not generated, remove the
connector and check v-coil conductivity between
pin 1 and other pins (~50ohm) and between each
pins (~90ohm).

If v-coil has no conductivity, v-coil is faulty.

If v-coil has conductivity, mount good v-coil.

If still no latching, then replace the valve unit or
replace outdoor control PCB.
For safety reason and to prevent component
breakdown, always switch off the power before
remove and connect the component.
Check the expansion
valve.
Check the indoor intake air and
indoor pipe temperature sensors.
Replace the indoor intake air or
indoor pipe temperature sensor.

Does it conform to the
sensor characteristic chart?
Yes
Replace the solenoid coil
or expansion valve
Yes
Is the expansion valve ok?
Perform Auto Wiring to
correct the wiring connection.
No
Is the wiring connection
ok?
Yes
Check the system wiring
connection.
Replace outdoor unit
PCB.
No
