3.1 Prior to Installation
In order to use the ClipCopy application to transfer newsBYTE/QuickCutter AV data to and
from the video server, the following conditions must be satisfied by the system environment
in which the ClipCopy application is to be installed.
1. The appropriate network card and its driver software must have been installed, and they
must be operating properly. (See Note 2 below.)
2. The WindowsNT network software (protocol, services) must have been installed appropri-
ately, and they must be operating properly. (See Appendix.2 for details on how to check
the WindowsNT network software.)
3. The newsBYTE/QuickCutter application must have been installed appropriately.
4. The user registration must have been completed with the video server, and it must be
possible to confirm the connection from newsBYTE/QuickCutter.
3.2 Installing the ClipCopy application
After checking that the conditions which must be met as described in section 3.1 prior to
installation have indeed been met, follow the steps below to install the ClipCopy application
into newsBYTE/QuickCutter.
1. Exit all applications, and run “setup.exe” located on the ClipCopy setup disk. The setup
shown in Fig. 3-1 is now commenced.
