Check the following points before calling service personnel. The problem may be one you can solve yourself.

No function and no play.

The power cord is not plugged in 

Insert it firmly Into the main power outlet.

The VCR does not work even though

the power is turned on.

There is no cassette in the VCR.

Load a cassette.

tenna booster (not supplied).

TV broadcasts cannot be received

using the buttons on the VCR.

“AU” is displayed in the VCR display.

Press the CH       button so that the position

number appears. 

The VCR is not set in the VCR mode.

Press the TV/VCR button to make the “VCR

indicator appear in the VCR display. 

Channels on the are not received

when the VCR is on.

The VCR is not set in the TV mode.

Press the TV/VCR button to make the “VCR

indicator disappear in the VCR display. 

Recording cannot be performed.

The safety tab of the cassette is removed.

Use a cassette with a safety tab or cover the

tab hole with adhesive tape. 

A picture being recorded cannot be

seen on the TV.

The VCR is not set in the VCR mode.

Press the TV/VCR button to make the “VCR”

indicator appear in the VCR display.

The Playback picture is poor or

absent.

Tracking Is not adjusted appropriately.

Adjust the tracking manually.

Tuning of the TV is not good.

Fine tune the TV.

The video heads are dirty (beyond the head

cleaner’s capacity).

Consult your dealer for head cleaning.

The VCR is not set in the VCR mode.

Press the TV/VCR button to make the “VCR”

indicator appear in the VCR display.

Time recording cannot be

performed.

No cassette is loaded.

Load a cassette.

The safety tab of the cassette is removed.

Cover the tab hole or use another cassette

with a safety tab.

The timer indicator (      ) is not displayed.

Press the TIMER button.
