SECONDARY CIRCUIT
PROTECTION
Important Information
This equipment is for use on telephone wiring
containing a secondary circuit protector. This pag-
ing equipment requires a Secondary Circuit Pro-
tector where applicable (see Figure 2).
The secondary circuit protector must be located
between the primary protector and the paging
equipment. Refer to the Safety Information below.
Safety Information
• The Secondary Circuit Protector is used when
connecting paging equipment directly to
telephone lines that may be exposed to high
voltage power lines.
• Never install telephone wiring during a lightning
storm.
• Never install telephone jacks in wet locations
unless the jack is specifically designed for wet
locations.
• Never touch uninsulated telephone wires or ter-
minals unless the telephone line has been dis-
connected at the network interface.
• Use caution when installing or modifying tele-
phone lines.
• Use applicable Valcom approved device.

unit clearly stating company name, address,

Adapter Terminal
Description

These terminals provide a voice-coil speaker output from the primary Amplicenter or
ZoneMate. Speakers may be connected to these terminals or these terminals can be used
as your input to the Remote Amplifier Adapter when an RCA cable is not used to connect
to the primary PagePac.
C
C1
Terminals C and C1 are control leads for the remote
AmpliCenter
or PagePac 6. They
are shorted to switch the remote unit to the page mode. C and C1 may be connected to the
same dry contact closure used for the primary
AmpliCenter
, or they may be jumpered to
hold the remote unit in the page mode.

These are auxiliary tip and ring connections, and may be used to monitor the tip and ring
input to the remote unit.
