SAFETY & VENTILATION INFORMATION
• Do not cover or block the slots and ventilation openings
on your set-top. Never stand your set-top on soft
furnishings or carpets.
• Do not install your set-top near any heat sources such as
radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus that
produce heat.
• To allow sufficient ventilation, maintain a minimum
distance of 3 inches around your set-top.
• Do not place your set-top in an unventilated cabinet or
on top of a unit which emits heat (e.g. a TV).
• Do not allow anything to drip or splash onto your set-top.
Do not place anything on top of your set-top.
You should also refer to Important Safety Instructions in your Pace TDC775D Operator’s Manual.
Connecting to the Power Supply
• Before you connect your set-top to a wall
outlet, connect the polarized socket on the
power cord into the plug labeled “POWER
INPUT” on your set-top’s rear panel.
• Connect the polarized plugs on the power
cords from your set-top, VCR and any other
equipment into AC wall outlets. If these
outlets have switches, switch them to ON.
SETTING UP YOUR TDC775D FOR YOUR TV
You should make the correct HDTV settings to ensure your set-top is compatible with your
HDTV or TV.
1. Make sure that your set-top is switched on.
2. Press and hold down the
power
button on your set-top, then within 1 second, press the
menu
button.
The front panel displays “ASPt” as shown right. You should also see the HD Power Menu, shown in the illustration below,
on your TV screen. If you cannot see this menu, see your Operator’s Manual for instructions on how to use the front
panel display to make HDTV settings. (Once you have made the correct settings, the HD Power menus will display.)
Use the and buttons to select an item to change or to return to the previous menu. Use the and buttons to
view and highlight the settings and press select to choose the setting you want. See the illustration below or for more
information see your Operator’s Manual.
3. Once you have finished making changes, to remove the HD Power Menu, and return to normal viewing, press the
power
button.

The HDTV settings you can change are:
• TV Aspect Ratio - choose your TV screen’s
width-to-height ratio, or shape;
• TV Display Capability - choose the
screen resolution(s) your TV is capable of
displaying (1080i, 720p, 480p and/or 480i);
• Auto Pillarbox - choose On or Off;
• Closed Captions - choose On or Off and
change the appearance;
• Front Panel Settings - choose Low,
Standard or High;
You can also reset the HDTV settings to the
factory defaults.

TURNING YOUR SET-TOP ON AND OFF
To turn your set-top on, press the button labeled
power
on the front panel. Do not unplug
your set-top at the wall AC outlet (or do not switch it off there, if the outlet has a switch).
To turn your set-top on or off at any time, press the
power
button on its front panel or the
POWER button on the remote control (making sure the remote control is set to control the
set-top).
To turn on your set-top,
press the power button.
The light beside the
button lightens blue.
