General safety instructions
•
Read the user manual thoroughly before operating the winch.
•
Never use the winch to carry out vertical lifts – the winch is solely designed for
horizontal winching.
•
Park your vehicle in neutral next to the item that is to be winched. Engage the
handbrake and let the engine run in idle during the winch to prevent the battery from
losing power.
•
Avoid winching at oblique angles as this can cause the wire to wind around one end of
the reel, which can result in the wire or winch becoming damaged.
•
The winch may only be operated by persons over 18 years of age.
•
The winch must never be operated by anyone who is under the influence of alcohol,
medicine or narcotic substances.
•
To avoid damage to hands, we recommend that you use leather gloves when working
with the steel wire.
•
Always keep to a safe distance from the winch when the wire is being pulled in.
•
Never completely unwind the wire – there should always be approximately five
windings left on the reel.
•
Never walk under or walk over a tensioned wire.
•
Never release the idling clutch when the winch is loaded.
•
Never pull the wire by the vehicle – only pull the wire using the winch.
•
Never wrap the wire around an item and secure to the wire again – use a chain, strap
or similar.
•
Never use the winch to lift/hold/transport people or animals.
•
Check the winch regularly for signs of defects and never use the winch if the wire,
cables or winch itself has defects.
