cause allergic reactions and/or lead to re-

spiratory infections of the user or bystand-

ers.

Certain dust, such as oak or beech dust,

is considered carcinogenic, especially in

connection with wood-treatment additives

(chromate, wood preservative). Materials

containing asbestos may only be worked

by specialists.

– Provide for good ventilation of the working

place.

– It is recommended to wear a P2 fi lter-class

respirator.

Observe  the  relevant  regulations  in  your

country for the materials to be worked.

Prevent dust accumulation at the work-

place.

Dust can easily ignite.

Operation

Starting Operation

Observe correct mains voltage! The

voltage  of  the  power  source  must

agree with the voltage specifi ed on the

nameplate of the machine. Power tools

marked with 230V can also be operated

with 220V.

Switching On and Off

To save energy, only switch the power tool on

when using it.

To

start

the  power  tool,  press  the  On/Off

switch forward and then down.

To

lock-on

 the pressed On/Off switch, push

the On/Off  switch further forward.

To

switch off

the power tool, release the On/

Off  switch, or when it is locked, briefl y press

the On/Off  switch and then release it.

ACheck grinding tools before using.

The  grinding  tool  must  be  mounted

properly and be able to move freely.

Carry out a test run for at least one

minute with no load. Do not use dam-

aged, out of centre or vibrating grinding

tools.

Damaged grinding tools can burst

and cause injuries.

Speed preselection

The required speed can be preselected with

the thumbwheel (also while running).

The required speed depends on the material

and the working conditions and can be deter-

mined through practical testing.

Working Advice

Before any work on the machine itself,

pull the mains plug.

Clamp the workpiece if it does not re-

main stationary due to its own weight.

Do not strain the machine so heavily

that it comes to a standstill.

After heavily straining the power tool,

continue to run it at no-load for several

minutes to cool down the accessory.

Flap Disc

Polishing

For the polishing of weathered paint or buff -

ing out scratches (e.g., acrylic glass), the

machine can be equipped with appropriate

polishing accessories such as lamb’s wool

bonnet, polishing felt or sponge (accessories).

Select a low speed for polishing in order to

avoid excessive heating of the surface.

Apply the polish onto a somewhat smaller

surface than you intend to polish. Work the

polishing agent in with a suitable polishing

tool applying it crosswise or with circular mo-

tion and moderate pressure.

Do not allow the polishing agent to dry out

on the surface, otherwise the surface can be-

come damaged. Do not subject the surface to

be polished to direct sunlight.

Clean the polishing accessories regularly to

ensure good polishing results. Wash out pol-

ishing accessories with a mild detergent and

warm water; do not use paint thinner.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Before any work on the machine itself

(e. g. maintenance, tool change, etc.) as

well as during transport and storage,

remove the battery from the power tool.

There is danger of injury when unintention-

ally actuating the On / Off  switch.

For safe and proper working, always

keep the machine and ventilation slots

clean.

When  the  battery  is  no  longer  operative,

please refer to an authorised after-sales ser-

vice agent for P.I.T. power tools.

Dispose of waste

Damaged power tools, batteries, ac-

cessories and waste packaging mate-

rials must be recycled and reused in

an environmentally friendly manner.

Do not throw power tools and accumulators /

batteries into general household waste!
