INSTRUCTION MANUAL
OPERATING RIVEDRILL IN CORNERS
When applying rivets it is important to ensure that the mandrel is completely inside the nose piece of
RiveDrill. This is especially important when applying rivets in corners or tight areas where it is not possible to
keep RiveDrill perpendicular to the workpiece. Following this procedure will ensure the longevity of the jaws.
Failure to do so may cause damage to the jaws.
OPERATING RIVEDRILL
Set your drill to
1.
reverse rotation.
Depress the trigger
switch until you hear
a ‘clicking’ sound
from the RiveDrill.
Insert a rivet into the
2.
nose piece, ensuring
that the size of the
rivet matches the size
of the nose piece.
Do not force rivet
into RiveDrill as this
could cause damage.
Set your drill to
3.
forward rotation (low
speed). Insert the
rivet fully into your
workpiece. Apply
firm pressure to the
drill and depress the
trigger switch until
the rivet pops.
To remove the
4.
rivet’s mandrel from
the RiveDrill, set
your drill to reverse
rotation and depress
the trigger switch
until the mandrel is
released from the
nose piece.
Caution:
The external sleeve should be held during operation of RiveDrill. It is designed
for protection against the rotating chuck when operating RiveDrill and should cover the
chuck at all times.
MAINTENANCE & CLEANING
The jaws must be cleaned and lubricated periodically to remove any dust or debris that may have been
•
deposited.
If the rivets mandrel becomes stuck inside RiveDrill:
•
- Set your drill to reverse rotation. Depress the trigger switch until you hear a ‘clicking’ sound from the
RiveDrill. Try to extract the mandrel using pliers. Do not use excessive force to remove the mandrel. If this
method does not work, refer to the Service Manual for disassembly instructions.
