Children, animals and infirm persons should not be left
unattended near the fireplace when lit. Only adults who
have read instructions and are familiar with procedures
should add fuel or light or extinguish the fire.
Never place the burner or fireplace near flammable
objects such as clothing, curtains etc, or other flammable
materials etc. The following clearances are recommended
– 1 metre from any fabric (curtains etc) or flammable
material, 1.5 metres from ceilings, 40 cm from walls
(unless fireplace is designed to go against a wall or is wall
mounted). Models OZF100 & OZF105 are designed
for free-standing, indoor applications and can be located
against a wall.
As the fireplace consumes oxygen, there is a danger of suffocation, so the fireplace should be located
in a suitably sized room with adequate oxygen supply and fresh air. The first signs of lack of oxygen are
sudden fatigue and an impaired ability to concentrate.
