Multiplying all three internal dimensions and then dividing the product by 1728 will pro-
duce the enclosure volume. 

(H" x W" x D") / 1728 = Enclosure Volume

Enclosures should be constructed with 3/4 inch MDF to prevent flexing of the enclosure
walls. When assembling the enclosure all panels should be first glued, and then fastened
together with either a brad nailer or screws in pre-drilled holes. After the enclosure has
been assembled, all seams should be sealed with silicone caulk.

Enclosure recommendations are net internal volumes. Driver displacement, brace dis-
placement, and port displacement must be added to the volumes listed on the chart.
Typically, by adding 10 percent to a sealed enclosure volume, or 15 percent to a ported
enclosure volume, the extra displacement of the driver and port can be compensated for.

NOTE:

On vented enclosures, equalization is not recommended below the enclosure tuning
frequency (Fb). The end of port should be no closer than it’s own diameter to the wall
opposite the port opening.
