OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE SWITCHING ON
Before using the scales for the first time, the rechargeable battery should be fully charged for up
to 12 hrs.
Ensure the scales are placed on a firm, level surface, avoiding locations with rapid temperature changes,
excessive dust, moisture, air currents, vibrations, electromagnetic fields, heat or direct sunlight.
Adjust the levelling feet until the bubble is centred in the circle of the level
indicator which is located on the front of the panel.
SWITCHING ON
1. With the weighing platter empty, turn on power switch (located
underneath on the left-hand side of the scale). Due to the high resolution of these scales, allow 10
minutes for them to warm up before use for optimum results.
2. Press the ZERO/ON/OFF key to turn on the scales. The self-check will run and the scales will
display a zero reading. The scales are now ready for weighing. Note: If the scale does not zero,
an error code will be displayed. See Troubleshooting to resolve.
3. To change the weighing unit of measure, press the Unit key to toggle between kg and lb.
4. Set the tare weight if desired.
5. Place objects on the scale platter and read the weight on the indicator. Leaving loads in
place for extended periods may vary the load cell’s output signature and may result in a less
accurate reading, so always record the weight shortly after placing load on platter.
6. Accumulate or print data if desired.
7. When finished weighing, press the ZERO/ON/OFF key for 4 seconds to switch off.
SETTING THE TARE WEIGHT
This scale allows for both a manually entered pre-set tare weight, as well as a “weighed” tare
weight. The total tare weight is the sum of the weighed tare and the pre-set tare. The Net Weight
= Gross weight - (Weighed Tare + Manually Entered Tare).
Note: Be aware that any previously entered pre-set tare will impact the total tare.
