5 Recommended application
Compression Shrinker Socks should be worn only when prescribed by a
physician and should be given to the patient by trained personnel. Before
applying or removing the sock, we recommend removing jewelry and wear-
ing thin protective gloves since rough fingernails might damage the fine
material of the sock.
1. Turn the sock inside out (fig. 1).
2. Stretch the double-layer upper part of the sock, so that you can slip your
residual limb into the sock (fig. 2).
3. Slowly and evenly slip the sock upwards over the leg without twisting it.
For optimal effect, "massage" the sock onto the leg for even distribution
and to correct any "overstretched" material (fig. 3).
6 Care & Washing instructions
- Hand or machine wash (gentle cycle) your compression shrinker sock-
daily using a standard mild detergent in warm water (max. 40 °C/104 °F).
- If your sock is provided with a hook & loop closure, close it before washing.
- Thoroughly rinse with clear water. Do not use any softeners, spin-dry or
wring out.
- After washing, roll the sock in a towel, firmly press out excess water and
let air-dry.
- Do not expose the sock to direct heat (radiator, sun, etc.). Do not tumble-
dry, iron, chemically clean or use benzine for cleaning.
