FIttING INStructIoNS
mId-Strap
Fasten the mid-strap by passing it behind the calf, inserting it through
the corresponding D-ring on the opposite side of the calf shell and
back onto itself (Figure 1). Make sure this is secured snugly, as it is the
primary suspension strap.
tHIGH Strap
Pass the thigh strap through the slotted thigh strap attachment and
double it back onto itself (Figure 2).
caLF Strap
Pass the calf strap through the lower D-ring and double it back onto
itself (Figure 3).
dyNamIc ForcE Strap (dFS)
1) The D.F.S. spirals on a diagonal around the back of the leg, threads
through the D-ring on the front of the thigh shell, and then fastens back
onto itself (Figure 4).
2) Bend the knee to 80° and retighten the D.F.S (Figure 5). When the
D.F.S. is adjusted correctly, it tightens each time the leg approaches
extension. Secure any accessory straps that may have been added to
improve brace suspension and/or ligament support.

Your Ossur knee brace is designed for minimum maintenance and care.
Follow these easy steps to keep your knee brace in top condition.
-Hinge Lubrication: Apply a small quantity of heat resistant silicone
lubricant with a toothpick or similar device to the inner surfaces of the
hinge, where visible. Lubricate the hinge several times a year. DO NOT
DISASSEMBLE THE HINGE!
-Liner cleaning: All liners may be hand washed using a sponge or soft
cloth and 86F (30˚C) warm water with mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly
and air dry. Softgoods must be washed to prevent skin irritation and to
keep the brace in optimal condition.
-Strap cleaning: Straps may be hand washed using a mild detergent
soap and a soft brush with 86F (30˚C) warm water, then rinsed
thoroughly and air-dried. Softgoods must be washed to prevent skin
irritation and keep the brace in optimal condition. DO NOT REMOVE
STRAPS.
-reconditioning: Wear and time may take their toll on your brace. Your
brace can be fully reconditioned. For more information return the brace
to your point of purchase or contact Ossur.
