11. Function Check

– Once the “Walk-Around” Inspection

is complete, perform a functional check of all systems in
an area free of overhead and ground level obstructions.
Refer to Section 4 for more specific operating instruc-
tions.

IF THE MACHINE DOES NOT OPERATE PROPERLY, TURN OFF THE
MACHINE IMMEDIATELY! REPORT THE PROBLEM TO THE PROPER
MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL. DO NOT OPERATE THE MACHINE UNTIL IT
IS DECLARED SAFE FOR OPERATION.

Function Check

Perform the Function Check as follows:

1.

From the ground control console with no load in the
platform:

a.

Check that all guards protecting the switches or
locks are in place;

b.

Operate all functions and ensure proper operation;

c.

Check auxiliary descent and ensure proper opera-
tion;

d.

Ensure that all machine functions are disabled
when the Emergency Stop Button is pushed in.

e.

Ensure all boom functions stop when the function
enable switch is released.
