A.2
Changing the Battery Tube Cap O-Rings
The O-rings should be changed every 6 months.

From the Fission Meter Spare Parts Kit (P/N 1109403), retrieve the following:
•
(2) O-rings 024 (P/N 1109497).
•
(2) O-rings 030 (P/N 1109239).
•
O-ring grease (P/N 800128).
2)
Press firmly on the cap with your palm and rotate it approximately 1/16 turn counterclockwise. This will
release the entire battery tube. Rotate the tube as needed to remove it from the panel.
3)
Depress the opposing buttons that hold the cap on the tube, and remove the cap.
4)
Remove the old O-rings with a fingernail or a small non-abrasive object such as a toothpick (
do not mar
the O-ring seats
).
5)
Spread a very small quantity of the supplied grease (P/N 800128) on your finger and thoroughly but
lightly
lubricate O-rings 024 and 030. Wipe off any excess until the entire O-ring surface is uniformly
lubricated and shiny.
6)
Install the new O-rings as shown in Figure 28.
7)
Reverse the first three steps to reinstall the cap.
