1. If the machine will not be used for more than 30 days,
to avoid failure or malfunction during operation, remove
the fuel from the fuel filler opening to a container by a
hand pump. Slide the hose clip from the fuel valve on
the fuel tank side, and drain the remaining fuel into the
container. Then, loosen the drain plug-A with a
screwdriver, and discharge the fuel from the carburetor
to the container. Transfer all the fuel to the containers,
and keep them in a safe area.
2. Clean the outside of the engine and machine, and put
the removed parts back to the normal position.
3. Replace the engine oil. Refer to “Replacement of the
engine oil” page 31
4. Clean each part. Especially, the recoil starter, air
cleaner, muffler, HST fan cover, near the vaporizer and
inside of the belt cover, clean and remove all grass.
If you start to work while grass and dust are piled up,
the engine will heat up, and it may cause burning and
fire.
If you use a pressurized water hose, the glass in the blade cover can be relatively easy to
clean before the grass dries out.
At this time, please cover the engine’s electrical parts, vaporizer, air cleaner, and muffler
outlet to protect them from water. Doing so can avoid engine failure.
5. Grease and lubricate each lubricated part.
6. Engage the parking brake, and keep the machine flat in a dry and well-ventilated
covered area.
7. When you cover the machine, please wait until the muffler and each engine part have
cooled down. During storage, check the tire pressure regularly and add air if necessary.
Blade Inspection and Replacement:
In order to work as safely as possible, perform an inspection of the blades before you start.
How to inspect the blades:
1. Stop the engine and remove the key from the engine
switch. Refer to “How to stop the engine,” page 22.
2. Use the cutting height adjustment lever to raise the
blades to the middle position.
3. Open the side covers of the blade replacement, and fix
it.
4. Check the condition of blades and blade installation
status.
5. Check the blades for cracks, bends or abrasions.
If the blade condition is as shown blow, replace
the outer blades, or change with new ones.
