Table 3 (Continued) LRD-200B Configuration Parameters
Configurable
Parameter
Options
Description
Power Output
•
On
•
Off
•
This setting turns on or turns off
the power output on J01, which is
used to apply power to a
downconverter or to the feed.
•
Set to
Off
when using an Orbital
Systems, Ltd. antenna positioner.
Input
Attenuation
•
Zero to 30 dB in
2dB steps
•
When used in a
standard Orbital
Systems 2.4m or
3.0m system,
this value
typically is set to
zero (0)dB.
•
This parameter enables the user to
adjust the demodulator dynamic
range to accommodate systems in
which the antenna gain or cable loss
requires a non-standard setting.
•
The nominal receive signal level at
the LRD-200B demodulator input
should be minus 50 (-50) dBm.
•
If a larger reflector, lower-loss
coaxial cable, or a fiber optic link is
used, the signal level will increase,
which will require additional
attenuation.
•
To determine the correct setting for
the system, consult the system
designer. This value typically is not
changed, and it is configured using
the setup buttons.
Data Polarity
and Clock
Polarity
•
Invert or Normal
•
Set the data polarity to
normal
and
set the clock polarity to
invert
if using
the Orbital Systems, Ltd. front end
server (FES).
•
These settings enable the user to
match the clock and data signal
polarities at the demodulator
output to the hardware used to
read the data into the computer
system.
•
Consult the system designer to
determine the correct settings for
the user’s system. This value
typically is not changed, and it is
configured using the setup buttons.
