Cleaning
Cleaning the surface
Do not use any volatile liquids, such as insect sprays. The surfaces can be damaged through
too strong pressure when wiping the surfaces. Rubber or plastic parts should not be in
contact with the device over extended periods.
Cleaning the blade unit
After using Smoothies, clean the blade unit by means of the supplied cleaning cup.
Simply pour some water and dishwashing detergent into the cleaning cup and use it like
the normal pitcher.
More intensive cleaning of your Smoothie Maker
When your smoothie maker has been operated for a while and fruit residues cannot so easily
be removed anymore, the blade unit can be removed from the device for intensive cleaning.
WARNING
Please note that the smoothie glass and the blade unit can only be removed in specific
positions. Do not apply excessive force in order to prevent damages to the smoothie maker.
To insert or remove the pitcher, turn the device into the start position (pitcher points
downwards).
As soon as the glass is in the proper position, turn it clockwise and remove it from the blade
unit. Note the markings on the glass and the device when inserting/removing the same.
WARNING
Separate the device from the mains supply before removing the blade unit! The blades are
very sharp. Extreme care is essential in order to avoid injuries.
1. Remove the glass (device must be in the start position)
2. Tilt the motor unit upwards (ensure that the device is not connected to the mains supply).
3. Remove the blade unit by holding it at the bottom and turn it counter-clockwise.
(warning: the blades are very sharp!).
4. You can now clean the blade unit under running water (warning: never clean the blade unit
in the dish washer).
5. After drying, place the blade unit on the motor unit and turn it clockwise until it snaps into
place (note the markings on the device).
Special safety instructions
• Before using the Smoothies, please read this manual carefully and store it in a safe place.
• Never turn the device off by turning the mix pitcher. Push the safety switch and turn the
pitcher and turn the pitcher (out) from the vertical position.
• After use disconnect the device from the mains power. Remove the pitcher only after all
moving parts have come to a stop.
• Please note the advices and recipes in this manual regarding the amounts of ingredients
required and time needed.
• Clean the smoothie maker before using it for the first time. Apply special care with parts
that are getting in contact with foods.
• If hot ingredients are put into Smoothies, their temperature should not exceed 85°C.
• The smoothie maker is safe as long as the instructions in the manual are observed.
Safety lock
• The smoothie maker is designed in such way that it can only be turned on, if the mix
pitcher is connected to the blade unit and has been correctly screwed in.
• Do not use the device, if the power cord, the mains plug or other parts of the device are
damaged. In such case, only an authorized repair shop should install a replacement cable.
• Do not let children play with the device.
• Do not let the device run unattended.
• Always handle the blade unit with care. Special care is required with the cleaning of the
blades, as these are very sharp.
• Never operate the smoothie maker for extended periods. The normal operating time is
max. 10-20 seconds.
• For better results cut solid ingredients into smaller pieces.
• Smoothies only works, if the mix pitcher is correctly secured at the blade unit. Once all
components are mounted correctly, make the smoothie maker ready for operation by
bringing it into operating position via the pivot joint.
• After operation let the smoothie maker cool down to room temperature.
• Never open the pitcher as long as the blades are still turning.
• When mixing soups, using boiled ingredients is advisable.
• When processing hot fluids or ingredients that tend to frothing (e.g. milk), do not fill the
pitcher exceeding ¾ of the filling capacity.
Troubleshooting / FAQ
I cannot turn on the device.
Ensure that all components are correctly assembled.
The device suddenly doesn’t work anymore.
The mix pitcher has loosened. Close the cover correctly. The device resumes operation.
