12.2 startup preferences
Use Startup preferences to set
Business Everywhere
to start automatically when
you switch your laptop on.
Another option on this screen allows you to minimise the dashboard when you are
using
Business Everywhere
.
You can also set a password to prevent unauthorized use of your
Business Everywhere
application :
1 Click settings & reporting > Startup preferences > Protect.
2 Enter a password for the settings. Confi rm the password and click OK.
3 Click OK to exit the settings application. Doing this will save all your changes.
4 You will be asked to enter a password the next time that you open your
Business Everywhere
application. Enter the password and click OK.
5 To cancel the password request repeat step 1 and delete the two passwords
from the boxes. Click OK and then click OK to exit settings and save your changes.
To protect your data card against unauthorized use, your data card has an optional
SIM card PIN security feature . Once it is set up, you will be asked for your SIM
card PIN each time that you open your
Business Everywhere
application with
your data card inserted.
To activate the SIM card PIN security feature:
1 Open your
Business Everywhere
data card application and then click the
settings & reporting button.
2 Select PIN Code from the left-hand menu and select the PIN management button.
3 Click Activate PIN. Enter your PIN code, which is preset to 0000 if you have not
yet activated it, in the two boxes and then click OK.
4 Click OK to exit the settings & reporting menu. This will save your settings.
It is recommended that you increase security by changing your SIM card PIN
to a number that only you know :
1 Open your
Business Everywhere
application and then click the settings
& reporting button.
2 Select PIN Code then click the PIN management button.
3 Enter your existing PIN code in the fi rst white box. Enter a new PIN code next to
“Enter new PIN” and confi rm it in the box below.
4 Click OK to exit the settings menu. This will save your settings.
