Notes:
• When the sound level lowers or the pic-
ture becomes unstable, replace the bat-
teries.
• Internal batteries automatically discon-
nect when you plug an adapter into the
DC IN 6V
jack.
AC POWER
You can power the TV from a standard AC
outlet. You must use an optional AC adapter
than supplies 6 volts and delivers at least
550 mA. Its center tip must be set to nega-
tive, and its plug must correctly fit the TV’s
DC IN 6V
jack. We recommend RadioShack
Cat. No. 273-1664. Using an adapter that
does not meet these specifications could se-
riously damage the TV or the adapter. Set
the adapter’s voltage switch to 6V.
Plug the adapter’s barrel plug into the TV’s
DC IN 6V
jack. Then plug the other end of the
adapter into a standard AC outlet.
Notes:
• Do not leave the adapter plugged into
the AC outlet or connected to the TV
when you are not using the TV.
• Always unplug the adapter from the AC
outlet first.
• The adapter might become warm after
extended periods of use.
VEHICLE BATTERY POWER
You can use an optional DC adapter to pow-
er the TV from your vehicle’s cigarette-light-
er socket if your vehicle has a 12-volt DC,
negative-ground electrical system.
You must use a DC adapter that supplies 6
volts and delivers at least 550 mA. Its center
tip must be set to negative, and its plug must
correctly fit the TV’s
DC IN 6V
jack. We rec-
ommend RadioShack Cat. No. 273-1801.
Using an adapter that does not meet these
specifications could seriously damage the
TV or the adapter. Set the adapter’s voltage
switch to 6V.
1. Plug the adapter’s barrel plug into the
TV’s
DC IN 6V
jack.
2. Unplug your vehicle’s cigarette lighter
and plug the large end of the DC
adapter cord into the cigarette-lighter
socket.
Notes:
• If the TV does not operate properly
when you use DC power, be sure the
cigarette-lighter socket is clean and that
the adapter’s plug is pushed all the way
into the socket.
• Do not leave the adapter plugged into
the cigarette-lighter socket or con-
nected to the TV when you are not
using the TV.
• Always unplug the adapter from the cig-
arette-lighter socket before unplugging
it from the TV.
CONNECTING AN EXTERNAL
ANTENNA
If you are in an area with weak TV signals,
or are inside a metal or concrete building,
you might need an external outdoor antenna
to improve reception. Connect the antenna
to the
EXT ANT
jack.
If your antenna wire is 75-ohm coaxial cable,
use an F-to-mini plug adapter to complete
the connections. We recommend Ra-
dioShack Cat. No. 278-257. If you have 300-
ohm wire, use a 300-to-75-ohm mini plug
adapter. We recommend Cat. No. 15-1148.
USING THE TV AS A MONITOR
You can play back the signal from an audio/
video component connected to your TV us-
ing a special cable (not supplied), available
at your local RadioShack store (RSU No.
10005890).
Connect the cable’s yellow plug to the com-
ponent’s video output jack and its white plug
to the component’s audio output jack. Then
plug the cable’s mini plug into the TV’s
AU-
DIO/VIDEO
jack.
1. Slide the TV/radio selector shutter on
the front of the TV down.
2. Extend the rod antenna.
