17. Do not fill the kettle above the MAX mark. Boiling water may splash out if overfilled.
18. To avoid possible steam damage, turn spout away from walls and do not use under cabinets.

PREPARATION FOR USE
1. Remove all packing from the kettle and its power base.
Before using the kettle for the first time, r if it has been out of
use for a long time fill to the max mark and boil, then discard
the boiled water and rinse the kettle out with cold water.
2. Before connecting the appliance to the mains supply check
that the voltage indicated on the rating plate corresponds
with the mains voltage in your home.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Always remove the kettle from the power base before
filling.
2. Lift the lid.
3. Fill the kettle between the MIN and MAX marks on the
water level indicator with cold water.
4. Replace the lid and place the kettle back on the power base.
Make sure the lid is securely fitted on the kettle before
boiling.
5. Position the kettle on the power base.
6. Plug the power base into the power outlet and switch on
at the mains.
7. To start boiling press the ON/OFF switch to the down
position.
8. The power indicator will illuminate and the kettle will
start to boil.

9. When the water has boiled the kettle will switch off
automatically and the power indicator will extinguish.
10. You can stop the boiling process at any time by pressing the
switch to the OFF position.
11. After the kettle has switched off automatically, there may be
a short delay before it can be re-boiled. This is usually no
more than 20 seconds.
12. The safety cut-out will operate if you accidently switch on
the kettle when it is empty or allow it to boil dry. Wait 15
minutes for the cut-out to reset before refilling with cold
water and boiling.
CLEANING
1. Always unplug the kettle from the mains supply and allow to
cool down completely before storing or cleaning.
2. Never immerse any part of the power cable, plug, power base
or kettle in water or any other liquid.
3. Wipe the exterior of the kettle using a damp cloth. Dry
thoroughly. Never use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning
agents as these may damage the finish of your kettle.
4. Over a period of time lime scale can build up inside your
kettle. To remove lime scale half fill the kettle with water and
add the juice of a lemon. Boil the kettle and allow to stand
for 15 minutes before discarding. Repeat several times using
cold water only.
