Important Maintenance and Cleaning Instructions
Always ensure that the machine is disconnected from the mains at the power socket
before opening the housing for cleaning and maintenance work.
Maintenance and Cleaning of the Cutting Mechanism
The gears and the drive chain must be cleaned and greased monthly.
Proceed as follows:
1. Remove the four Allen screws that secure the hood.
2. Fold the hood back on its hinge.
3. Remove the left side cover of the housing
(7mm socket spanner required).
4. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove loose dust and dirt. Clean the
chain and gears with compressed air, using appropriate eye and
hand protection.
5. Apply fresh grease to the gears and the drive chain, using a brush
or grease gun.
6. Spray light oil on the bearing plates and cutting blades at the ends
of the cutting mechanism, where the cutter shaft is held by the bearing.
7. Replace the side cover and hood, ensuring that they are both
properly secured.
Repairs must only be carried out by a specialist.
