Logical cameras
Wittwin can use a physical camera input for the following purposes.
background recording
performing VMD
pre-event recording
A logical camera is an object created and used by Wittwin to perform one of the above tasks
for a specific physical camera input. For each
physical
camera Wittwin can have up to three
logical
cameras. A camera system containing
n
physical cameras can have
3n
logical
cameras, therefore.
The maximum number of physical cameras your system supports is determined by the model
of your recorder (
Compact
or
Elite
) and the licence you have purchased, as shown in table
5.1 below.

By default, the first

logical cameras are set up to record video (background recording), but
this can be configured differently by the user. In fact, any logical camera can be set to
perform any of the three tasks mentioned above. Table 5.2 illustrates how tasks and
cameras might be grouped.
