WARNING: Never leave the Fire Pit unattended while it is hot. Keep the Fire
Pit in view while you are eating, and afterwards until the coals have been
safely disposed of. Fire, causing severe personal and property damage, may
result from unattended burning coals in the Fire Pit.
8.
Before disposing of expended coals, be sure that they are no longer hot.
Be aware that there are many hot coals and ash in the bottom of the Fire
Pit. Using a water hose at a low pressure, spray water into the Fire Pit
onto the coals. Continue this process until you are sure that the coals
are not burning, and are cold.
9.
When you are sure that the coals are completely cool, tip the Fire Pit
over in an area that can accept the wet ash. Remember, this could stain
the cement so choose an out-of-the-way area to clean your Fire Pit of
any remaining ash.
WARNING: Never dispose of burning coals. Risk of fire and severe personal
or property damage exist with improperly disposed burning coals.
Maintenance
1.
After each use, scrub the Grill (7) thoroughly to remove cooking residue.
2.
Thoroughly rinse out the Fire Pit.
3.
Store the Fire Pit in a dry, secure place to prevent damage. Do not leave out
in the weather, as this may cause the Fire Pit to deteriorate.
4.
Periodically check and retighten all fasteners as necessary.
Fire Pit
1.
Never use the Fire Pit inside a dwelling as a heat source; while lit,
charcoal briquettes emit carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless gas
that can cause DEATH when inhaled.
2.
To use as a Fire Pit out doors, leave off the Grill (7). Place kindling and short
cut pieces of wood on top of the Fire Grate (6). Light the kindling, place
larger pieces of wood on top of lighted kindling. After the fire is established,
carefully place the Wire Mesh Cover over the fire, using the Screen Lift-Off
Tool (9). This will prevent embers from flying up and out of the Fire Pit.
WARNING: Never overload your Fire Pit with too much wood. Add a small
amount at a time to control the level of the flames. Always use caution.
WARNING: Never dispose of wood and embers. Risk of fire and severe personal
or property damage exist with improperly disposed burning coals. Follow the
steps above for disposing of burnt remains and cleaning the Fire Pit.
