XVI.

Upgrading the Firmware

This player can use the random CD “Firmware Upgrade Tool” for firmware

upgrading or system maintenance.

Operation steps:

1. For power off, turn the switch to “OFF”.

2. Push the switch to “ON” to reset the unit, it accesses the “system setting” of

the “Setting Menu”. Then select “Firmware Upgrade”. Press “OK” to connect MP3

to the PC computer by the USB interface. Your computer will find the new

hardware device of ‘rockusb Device’ and give the prompt to install the drive.

3.Installing the drive.

Select “Installing (advanced) from the list or the designated position”,

and then click on “Next”;

Click on “Browse” to access “C:\Program Files\MP3 TOOLS\driver”

directory, click on “OK”;

Complete the installation of drive programs.

4. Click on “Program/mp3 TOOLS/ mp3 Firmware Upgrade Program” under the

Start menu.

5. Click on “Open Firmware”, and then select firmware files (with the suffix as

rfw)

6. From the firmware information, you can see “Version Number”, “Date of

Version” and “Manufacturer”;

7. Click on “Logon Firmware” button;

8. After upgrading is over, disconnect MP3 to the PC computer.
