This is the response time that is required for a safety sensor or switch, such as a light cur-
tain, to turn OFF. The value is defined for each sensor or switch.
Use the following values when an OMRON Special Safety Input Device is connected to a
Safety Input Unit.
E3ZS/E3FS Single-beam Safety Sensors
: 14 ms
D40A Non-contact Door Switches
: 6 ms + 0.4 ms x No. of linked Switches
D40Z Non-contact Door Switches
: 29 ms
UM/UMA Safety Mats
SGE Safety Edges
: 24 ms

This is the input response time required for a FSoE salve or CIP Safety slave, such as
Safety Input Units. A specific value is defined for each device.
The response time of Safety Input Units is as follows.
NX-SIH400: 9 ms + On-Off delay time
NX-SID800: 5 ms + On-Off delay time
For any other device, refer to the manual for the device.

This is the response time required for the CIP Safety connections or the FSoE connections.
These values can be verified on the Sysmac Studio. For details on how to check the net-

For CIP Safety connections: Network reaction time value calculated by the Sysmac Studio

period. The value varies, depending on the safety chain route as follows.

This is the response time that is required for an actuator, such as a safety relay, to turn
OFF. The value is defined for each actuator.

The fault detection time for a 24 V short-circuit fault in a D40A Non-contact Door Switch is 18 ms. If usage is
for an application other than a Door Switch, use a safety sensor/switch response time of 18 ms.
