Editing Parameters in Parameter
Dialog with EDS File
In CompoNet communications, EDS files are used to establish communication connection.
EDS files for CompoNet Communications Units are installed with CX-Integrator (Ver. 2.55 or higher).
Using a correct EDS file, you can edit inverter parameters in the [Parameter Dialog].
This section describes how to use an EDS file for editing device parameters and the functional restric-
tions applied when using it.
In CX-Integrator, double-click the CompoNet Communications Unit displayed in the Network Configura-
tion window. Then, the [Parameter Dialog] opens. The [Parameter Dialog] provides the following func-
tions.
*1 When the data was uploaded, the value of the parameter 0406 (Write to EEPROM) is 0. When you download
the parameter data next time, change this value to 2. Otherwise, your changes will not be saved in the inverter
EEPROM.
*2 The download process may be stopped if a problem occurs when downloading inverter parameters.
To be able to save the downloaded data into the inverter EEPROM, make sure that parameter 0406 (Write to
EEPROM) is set to 2.

How to Edit Parameters in Parameter Dialog with EDS File
Function
Detailed Description
Parameter group selection Inverter parameters are divided into groups A to P. You can select the parameter
group that is displayed in the Parameter Edit window.
Parameter Edit window
The window where you can edit the set inverter parameter values. To edit a currently
set parameter value, double-click the Value area for that parameter. However, you
cannot edit the value of any read-only parameter.
Upload inverter parame-
ters
When CX-Integrator is connected online, clicking the [Transfer [Unit to PC]] button
causes all the inverter parameter settings to be uploaded via CompoNet communi-
cations. Remember that the uploaded settings will overwrite the parameter values
displayed in the Parameter Edit window. Before uploading, be sure to save the
edited data.
*1
Download inverter param-
eters
When CX-Integrator is connected online, clicking the [Transfer [PC to Unit]] button
causes all the inverter parameter settings to be downloaded via CompoNet commu-
nications.
*2
Compare inverter
parameters
When CX-Integrator is connected online, clicking the [Compare] button causes all
the current inverter parameter settings to be compared against the set values dis-
played in the Parameter Edit window via CompoNet communications. Any mismatch
parameters detected in the comparison process will be displayed in a pop-up win-
dow.
*3
Reset CompoNet Commu-
nications Unit
When CX-Integrator is connected online, clicking the [Restart] button causes the
CompoNet Communications Unit to be hard reset. Note that this also causes the
CompoNet Communications Unit to be once disconnected from the network.
Reset edited data
to default settings
Clicking the [Default Setup] button causes the edited parameter data in the Parame-
ter Edit window to revert to the initial values. However, this operation does not affect
the parameters stored in inverters connected via CompoNet.
Save edited data
When you finished editing data in the [Edit Device Parameter] screen, click [OK] and
then save the project. This saves not only the project settings, but also the edited
data.
