Chapter 6 Troubleshooting
If the equipment is visibly damaged, does not function as expected or is found to
have other irregularities during the inspection described in Chapter 3,
“Installation and Connection”, do not use the equipment; contact Olympus. Some
problems that appear to be malfunctions may be correctable by referring to
Section 6.1, “Troubleshooting guide”. If the problem cannot be resolved by the
described remedial action, stop using the equipment and contact Olympus.

Troubleshooting guide
Listed below are abnormalities that can result from improper settings and
degraded consumable components, and recommendations for corrective action.
Abnormalities or failures other than those listed below must be repaired by
qualified Olympus service personnel.

The left and right
visual fields are not
aligned.
The distance between the left
and right eyepieces does not
match that between your eyes.
Perform interpupillary
distance adjustment
(Section 4.5).
The diopter of the eyepiece is not
adjusted properly.

The image goes out of
focus when the
magnification is
changed.
The diopter of the eyepiece is not
adjusted properly. (The focal
depth is different for high and low
magnifications. Adjusting the
focus at a high magnification,
then switching to a low
magnification can maintain the
focus, but adjusting it at a low
magnification, then switching to a
high magnification may take the
object out of focus.)

Eye fatigue occurs
during observation.
