13. Adjusting the Pulser Receiver (Phased Array Mode)

This chapter describes how to adjust the EPOCH 1000 Series pulser/receiver in phased 
array mode. The topics are as follows:

•

Setup from Automatic Probe ID

•

Manual Pulser Adjustment

Manual Receiver Adjustments

13.1 Setup from Automatic Probe ID

The EPOCH 1000 Series employs an automatic probe identification for Olympus 
phased array probes. When a standard Olympus phased array probe is connected and 
set up using the 

Beam

 setup page, the instrument automatically adjusts the pulser 

and receiver settings to the most common values used for inspections with the 
specified probe. The values can be reviewed using in the 

1/5 > PA P/R

 submenu.

For phased array probes that are not automatically recognized, or to allow 
optimization of the pulser and receiver settings, the EPOCH 1000 Series allows you to 
manually adjust pulser and receiver parameters.

13.2 Manual Pulser Adjustment

The EPOCH 1000 Series phased array mode pulser settings are available from the

 submenu. The pulser setup parameters are:
