P
(Program AE)
The camera chooses the optimal aperture and shutter speed according to
subject brightness.
A
(Aperture-priority AE)
In this mode, you choose the aperture (f/-number) and the camera
automatically sets the shutter speed for optimal exposure according to subject
brightness.
S
(Shutter-priority AE)
In this mode, you choose the shutter speed and the camera automatically sets
aperture for optimal exposure according to subject brightness.
M
(Manual exposure)
In this mode, you choose the aperture and shutter speed.
B
(Bulb/time /
Live composite)
Select this mode to leave the shutter open for a long exposure. You can
preview the photo in live view and end the exposure when the desired results
have been achieved.
Lighten blending is also available.
n
(Movie)
A dedicated movie mode. You can choose settings unavailable in or different
from those that apply in still photography modes.
The
R
(movie) button can be used for basic movie recording even in still
photography modes.

(Custom)
Frequently-used settings and shooting modes can be saved as custom modes
and recalled as needed simply by rotating the mode dial.
