If you are reinstalling the same version of system software, back up the current system configuration (see
).
Note:
If you cannot shut down the Fiery ES through the printer control panel, press and hold down the power button on
the Fiery ES until the green light goes out and the system shuts down.

Shut down the Fiery ES.

Disconnect all external cables from the Fiery ES,
except
the power cable.
Note:
Be sure to leave the power cable connected between the Fiery ES and the power outlet.

Flip the service switches to boot mode (switch 1 set to ON; switch 2 set to OFF).

Attach the prepared USB flash drive to one of the USB connectors on the Fiery ES (see

Power on the Fiery ES by pressing the power button once.
Make sure that the Fiery ES turns on.

Check the LED display for the file transfer activity. After confirming the LED activity starts and the LED display
shows the cyclic codes (
C1 > C2 > C3 > C1...
), turn off the Printer using the main power switch on the front.

Wait while the files are transferred.
The file transfer can take from 5 to 15 minutes depending on the USB flash drive.
The LED on the flash drive shows sporadic activity during this time. After the Fiery ES LED display shows the cyclic
codes (
C1 > C2 > C3 > C1...
), it eventually settles on
00
. When all of the files have been transferred, the Fiery
ES automatically shuts down.

Remove the USB flash drive from the Fiery ES.

Flip the service switches to normal mode (both switches set to OFF).

Important:
Be sure to flip the service switches to normal mode and remove the USB flash drive from the Fiery
ES. If you do not perform these actions, the Fiery ES may fail to start up.
