9.2
MAINTENANCE
AT
THE
END
OF
THE
WORK
SEASON
:
IMPORTANT:
do
not
use
high
‐
pressure
water
jets
directly
on
the
bearings
or
any
other
element
that
can
easily
be
affected
by
infiltrations
for
cleaning
purposes.
High
‐
pressure
water
can
pass
through
the
seals
and
cause
damage.
Dry
these
areas
and,
after
lubricating
them,
run
the
equipment
for
a
few
minutes.
MAINTENANCE
SCHEDULE
AND
PLANNED
ADJUSTMENTS
1.
Remove
all
the
shields
of
the
corn
head.
2.
Clean
the
corn
head
thoroughly.
3.
Accumulated
sirt
and
straw
will
keep
moisture
on
the
metal
parts,
causing
rusting.
4.
Check
the
gathering
chain
wear,
and
restore
tension.
5.
Check
the
gathering
chain
runner
wear.
6.
Check
the
wear
of
the
deck
plates.
7.
Check
the
knife
wear
and
the
correct
setting
of
the
stalk
roller.
8.
Check
the
adjustment
of
the
weed
knives
of
the
stalk
roller.
9.
Check
adjustable
stalk
chopper
bearings
wear.
10.
Check
the
stalk
chopper
wear.
11.
Check
the
feeder
drive
chain
wear.
12.
Check
the
gearbox
drive
chain
wear.
DANGER:
before
carrying
out
any
maintenance
work,
secure
the
machine
following
these
steps:
‐
always
turn
off
the
engine,
‐
engage
the
handbrake,
‐
remove
the
ignition
key
and
set
the
channel
safety
lock
in
position
on
the
elevator
cylinder,
‐
hang
a
"DO
NOT
USE"
sign
on
the
operator's
cabin
on
the
combine
harvester
.
Failure
to
engage
the
safety
lock
may
result
in
injuries
or
death.
All
operations
are
to
be
performed
when
the
machine
is
disconnected
from
every
source
of
power
and
when
all
the
moving
parts
are
idle.
Use
suitable
PPE
for
each
of
the
operations.
