3. Details of all the installation options can be found in the
User’s Guide, which is in the Manuals folder on the
OKIFAX 5650 MFP Option Kit CD-ROM.
4. When the Unimessage Pro installation is complete, you
must restart your PC. When your computer restarts, user
registration dialogs appear.
Printer Status Icon
The Windows printer driver for your fax machine includes a
status monitor, which appears in the system tray on the
taskbar. If you close this you cannot fax from the PC, but you
can scan and print. For best performance with all MFP
functions, we recommend that you leave the status monitor on,
except on network clients–see the following page.
Setting up Clients on a Network
(Unimessage Pro LAN)
Unimessage Pro LAN can be installed on a client, so you can
use an MFP connected to a host on the network. When you do
this, do not install the scheduler—only one scheduler can run
on a network at a time.
Follow this procedure:
Note: If you are using Windows NT 4.0, make sure you
have administrator access rights.
1. If the drive where Unimessage Pro is installed is not
mapped on the client:
a. Use Network Neighborhood to browse to the folder
where Unimessage Pro is installed and shared.
b. Right click on the Unimessage Pro folder and select
Map network drive
from the menu.
c. Select a suitable drive letter.
2. Select a Client folder on the mapped drive and run
SETUP.EXE.
3. Confirm the drive where Unimessage Pro is installed; the
suggested drive is usually correct.
4. After registering the location of its components and
installing any required updates, restart Windows.
Unimessage Pro continues installation. Follow the
instructions carefully. For details on all installation
options, see the User’s Guide, which is in the Manuals
folder on the OKIFAX 5650 MFP Option Kit CD-ROM.
Note: When you start Unimessage Pro on a client, you
will see a dialog saying “Unimessage Pro is having
difficulty communicating with the scheduler over the
network...Awaiting response from Scheduler.” Click
Abort, and Unimessage Pro will start normally.
