STEP 1 Clear out the waste ink bottle.
STEP 2 Replace the four subcartridges with four dummy subcartridges.

Subcartridge cover
Knob screws
Open the subcartridge cover.
Loosen the two knob screws on the subcartridge cover
and open the subcartridge cover.

Subcartridges to be removed
Remove the four subcartridge.
To switch 8-color mode to 4-color mode:
Remove the subcartridges for Lm2, Gy4, Lc6, and Lg8.

Remove the subcartridges for M2, K4, C6, and Y8.
