CORRECT SETUP
You can adjust the height of your office desk to your individual
needs. Correct desk height adjustment ensures that you maintain
proper back posture and do not put unhealthy stress on your wrist,
and neck and shoulder muscles. If your desk is set too low, your
back tends to take on a rounded posture resulting in pressure on
your wrists. In turn, setting your desk too high tends to push your
shoulders upward, which can lead to neck and shoulder tension.
A correct setting, on the other hand, sends the correct and vital
straightening impulses to your back.
The correct desk height when sitting is determined by your own in-
dividual body size. The starting position for determining the correct
desk height is an upright sitting posture. Adjust the desk height to
a position where both shoulders are horizontal in a relaxed position,
while your forearms rest on the desk or slope very slightly down
toward your wrist. The arm angle should be at least 90°.
If you own an optimally set up office chair with armrests, then you
can alternatively also use this chair to determine the correct desk
height. In this case, the correct table height automatically results
from the height of the armrests. The armrests and tabletop should
form an even and continuous plane.
