The RM-20 solves the problem of controlling multiple standard IR controlled VTRs from a single unit in a video duplication
facility. The RM-20 has been designed to provide control for 20 VTRs without modifications or conversions of any kind. The
unit can handle any IR VTR PROTOCOL when used in conjunction with our
MRM-100/5 INFRARED MASTER REMOTE
CONTROL
. RM-20 units can be looped to control up to 1000 VTRs from a single MRM-100/5. Since the 20 outputs are
buffered, each VTR receives its own IR signal via a cable with an IR LED attached. This LED is placed in front of the VTR’s
IR sensor, and that’s the only requirement.
The RM-20 is perfect where consumer or prosumer type VHS VTRs are used in real time duplication facilities. The RM-20
will only operate with the MRM-100/5 or a specially modified handheld IR transmitter. RM-20 output cables are part num-
ber IRCAB-1. Standard RG59 coaxial cable is used for signal input to the unit.
Input:
From MRM-100/5 controller: BNC Looping input
Input from modified handheld transmitter
Outputs:
20 Outputs via RCA phono connectors
Buffered for Belden 8451 type cables
Output Cables: IRCAB-1
Power:
External DC power peak: 9VDC @ 200mA
Dimensions:
1.75”H x 5”D x 19”W (EIA Rackmount)
Locate the proper position for the RM-20 & install the supplied DC power pack. Connect the RG-59 input signal to the BNC
located at the rear panel. The RM-20 has a looping BNC signal input. DO NOT TERMINATE THE INPUTS OF THE RM-20.
If the RM-20 units are not looped, leave the looping BNC open.
Connect the IR cables to each RCA output of the RM-20 and feed the IR LED to each VTR. The RM-20 now ready to be
controlled from the MRM-100 master remote control.
