Scan special originals and originals of a non-standard size
Introduction
Task for operators
Special originals can cause problems in the automatic document feeder. Use
the glass plate to scan special originals.
Special originals are the following.
■
Pages from a bound original like a book or a magazine
■
Damaged or curled originals
■
Originals of a non-standard size.
When the original is put on the glass plate, the sheet size and the orientation of
the original are not automatically detected. The Océ VarioPrint 2090 uses a
number of rules to calculate the size and the orientation. These rules are the
following.
■
The sheet size of the original and the default page size of the file are the
same, standard sizes.
■
The default sheet orientation is a vertical orientation.
■
The zoom value for the file is 'Automatic'.
For example, the default page size of the file is A4 size. The Océ VarioPrint
2090 then calculates that the original on the glass plate is an A4 original with
portrait orientation.
To scan an original of a non-standard size and orientation, you must manually
set the sheet orientation to vertical (portrait) or horizontal (landscape).
Make sure that the original fits in the following ranges.
■
The minimum size for the short edge is 10 mm. The maximum size for the
short edge is 297 mm.
■
The minimum size for the long edge is 10 mm. The maximum size for the
long edge is 432 mm.
You can not use the 'Automatic' setting for zoom to scan an original of a
non-standard size and orientation to a different size. Then you must adjust the
zoom setting by hand.
